Many teachers do not utilize these features, and by doing so, can collect and analyze data that will provide more precise results.

This artifact represents ISTE Standard 6 in how coaches have the opportunity and obligation to show educators how to properly collect and analyze student data from a variety of technologies and digital tools. Empowering teachers to assess students through accurately utilizing digital tools and collected data is beneficial for students, so that the students can then create learning goals for themselves.

The presentation starts with simple recall assessments and concludes with strategic thinking and peer review assessments. Teachers will be able to use the information to determine students’ growth.

Rationale

The presentation represents ISTE standard 6 in that assessment tools need to be chosen carefully, and teachers must learn to determine what type(s) of data can be analyzed from the assessment. Supporting teachers in learning how to appropriately assess and collect data gives them a better understanding of how to support their students academically.
