This artifact represents ISTE standard 5 in that when creating professional development opportunities, coaches must be willing to determine the needs of their educators, and be willing to not only meet those needs, but also facilitate meaningful learning opportunities, while taking time to provide feedback and allow educators to make meaning of the learning. Further, the purpose of professional development is to have a positive impact on student learning, so encouraging educators to embrace ISTE Standards is necessary to positively impact student success.

The success of a professional development relies heavily on educator needs, and if what is being taught can be used and practiced during the session. By meeting teacher needs, professional development sessions will be more meaningful and effective.
